S.I.N.A. RIDES AGAIN

August 22 – August 23

August 22-23, 2026

The Society for Indecency to Naked Animals, or SINA, was a widely reported on moral campaign launched in the late 1950s that aimed to clothe all animals longer than 4 inches and taller than 6 inches. It was also the first major media prank perpetrated by Alan Abel. The only person to have an obit published in The New York Times before they passed away, Abel was a satirical rabblerouser who pulled off dozens of major media hoaxes from the 1950s up until his actual death in 2018. He was often aided by his equally uproarious wife, Jeanne, and other accomplices, including a then-unknown Buck Henry, who posed as SINA’s President. This trio are the subjects of “Inside Sina: The Society for Indecency to Naked Animals”, a new tell-all volume from J&L Books that must be seen to be believed. The same goes for this double-feature program centered on Abel, which includes his daughter Jenny’s enormously charming doc ABEL RAISES CAIN, his memorable role in pal Robert Downey Sr.’s utterly absurd NO MORE EXCUSES, and, as a special surprise, newly resurfaced, never-before-seen footage of Buck Henry attempting to clothe animals at a zoo.

Special thanks to Jeanne & Jenny Abel; Andrew Lampert; and Jason Fulford (J&L Books).
